Craig Martin - Vice President of Industry Affairs


Craig Martin, one of the original founders of M2P2 in 2002, began his career in Production Agriculture in the late 1960s in Central Indiana on a family grain and livestock farm. With background in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, he founded and was General Manager of a swine breeding stock company in the late 1980s. Genetic Improvement Services maintained a Nucleus Farm which included an EBV Sire and gilt testing program. It targeted the commercial producer through out the US. and sold 50,000 commercial gilts and 3000 terminal boars.

In the early 1990s he was the co-founder and manager of Genetic Concepts, LLC in Greenville, NC which built and operated boar studs that supplied semen to large swine producers in North Carolina.

In 1995, he was the General Manager of a 25,000 sow start up in Paris, Illinois. This complex consisted of 7-3500 farrow to wean farms on 440 acres. The weaned pigs from the 25,000 sows were hauled to Iowa to be finished in wean to finish barns.

M2P2, was founded in 2002 by John Stadler, Glenn McClelland, Bob McCulley, and Craig Martin. Craig served as Genetics coordinator and Chief Operating Officer with M2P2 until Dec 31, 2008. During that time, M2P2 managed 28,000 sows and finished 1,200,000 market pigs. All market pigs were sold to Hormel and Tyson.
